san fran reflections

to describe my vacay in one word:
"exhaustion."

it all started with S driving up there at 4AM PST
translated into 7AM EST
basically i was up for 24 hours with mini-naps in between.

and then it went downhill
bc everyday was such a packed schedule
and left me completely drained.

the weather was dreary. and foggy. and cold.
i think if it was nicer..i would have enjoyed the city more.
san fran is ok. its def not my FAVORITE city..but its ok.
its actually smaller than i thought.
give me another week, and i would have been able to find my way around :)

thurs:
experienced public transportation in this order
[cal train, bart train, F trolley, ferry, Muni bus]
and wondered why they dont just consolidate.

visited Alcatrez island and enjoyed their rich history.
also met an australian friend

walked around pier 33/39
saw a poor sea lion being shunned from all of his kind
it was cold so fewer sea lions

ate "lunch" at Boudin, a san fran sourdough specialty
lunch is in quotes because we ate at 5pm

went to Asian Art Museum night tour
i would like to say i enjoyed the experience
but i was exhausted and falling asleep walking
did meet up with our emory chum, eric Tam
yay! good seeing old faces

ate "dinner" in Japantown @ Miyako
once again dinner is in quotes bc it was around 9ish
also stopped by this Mango place for yummy treats

rock band back home

Friday
drove through San Fran to visit Muir Woods
lovely scenery. awesome breathing air.
slightly cold and muddy.
did a mile hike.

once again we were starving!
had lunch around 3ish in sausalito at Horizons
very good view. too cold to enjoy the deck

drove through golden gate bridge
breathtaking.

picked up another emory alum, angela uhnee!
she took us to "crooked street"
and saw financial district and union square area

went to dinner in daly city at barracuda sushi
awesome ambience, interesting sushi rolls that tribute to peruvian japanese
very good

went to jubilee in downtown san fran
a frozen yogurt place
and ran into some emory ppls
yay emory is everywhere :)

then went for drinks and cocktails @gravity bar

rock band marathon!
