simplify movement

i joined it.

i read an article by Craig Wilson, "The Final Word"
and i quote:

"I announced I was going to attempt to go a year buying only the necessities. I joined the "Simplify" movement. Books, music, food, travel, small gifts were allowed, since they are givers of life. But nothing else. No "stuff." I did pretty well. I fell off the wagon on vacation that year, buying a tennis sweater in England, a sweater I did not need and still have not worn. It has bad karma. But other than that I went 12 months without making a purchase. I took the consumer out of consumerism. As I wrote at the end of that year, my Visa bill plummeted and my checking account soared, as did my spirits. I felt free. It's time to do it again. I've decided I need a good cleansing every five years or so. I'm buying nothing this year. "

this inspired me.
taking the consumer out of consumerism.

i dont have money, yet i like spending money.
sigh.
this is y i joined this movement.

a friend is gonna keep me acountable.
here is our guidelines:
-no spending on clothes, shoes, accessories, purses, etc.
-no excessive eating out at nice places unless special occasion
-drinking only coffee or tea-
we will try it till Easter(March 23rd) to see if there are any benefits
-we will keep each other accountable and make sure no "excessive spending" is done
-"only what is necessary!" philosophy will be used before any purchase!

i fell off the wagon yesterday briefly to buy facial sunscreen, but im not counting that bc it is a necessity.
i can see wrinkles forming on my face and i want to prevent it.

simplify!
