scared

i am scared to start planning my wedding.
bc in my mind
the actual wedding process starts when u start purchasing
and the first purchase is prob the wedding dress.

therefore
i am scared to start looking at wedding dresses.
and here is why:

1)i am not or even near an ideal or a reasonable weight.
2)and my mom lets me know it pretty much once a day

do not get me wrong.
i love my mother.
i value her opinion a lot

on sundays, i stand in front of a 300plus congregation
and i take that responsibility seriously by making sure
i look professional, neat and clean, and also flattering :)
so every sunday morning, i get "checked" by my mom.

i run into her bathroom after i'm dressed
while yelling "ummmmmaaa"
she looks at me and says usually three things
a) [sighs and nods ok] when did u say youre gonna start working out?
b) [heavier sighs] did u not start yet? bc i think youre actually gaining
c) no. go change.

a is actually the only answer that i dont change for
so this is def a preview of the wedding dress try on
and the exact reason why i'm scared to do it.

I definately wasn't at my ideal weight when I started shopping for my wedding dress, but slowly but surely am shedding some pounds. Maybe go to a few dress shops by yourself to begin your shopping process...without other people's opinion "weighing" in. Good luck! And enjoy the process :)

If your mom stresses you out, go by yourself. I went with my mom, and I love her and she's great, but I HATE shopping with people. So the day I actually bought my dress, I was alone. Furthermore, as far as weight goes, my dress has a corset back and more than one hook in the skirt to minimize any necessary alterations. Think about something that wouldn't be too expensive to alter, or that you wouldn't have to alter.
Most of all, wear what makes you feel beautiful.
