gosh it took me so long to get started on the actual wedding planning
and i procrastinate for a living
but since i finally got started
its been quick, effective decisions
and the ability to complete tasks on our list.
invitations
found several options from korean websites. very cheap. very affordable. able to print in both korean and english. now we just have to pick one. i have learned to move on from my dream
of letterpress, custom designed, gorgeous invitations to practical, affordable, and stylish (yet maybe slightly too koreanish)
eh? it was cheap. thats all that matters :)
registries
done!
korean tradition is that they bring straight up cash anyways and we only added a small list to our two registries for our more american friends. i did stress for several days thinking of where to register, what to register but again we dont have much time, so quick decisions were made. I'll prob edit and add more stuff later, maybe. seriously most of the guests are korean adults
and they just bring cash anyways :)
to the curious:
we are registered at
here
here
plus we actually received our first wedding gift :)

its a cute heart shaped, glass candy dish from crate and barrel
it was very unexpected but i like it :)
venue
done. our home church. with our beloved pastor.
hair and makeup
found at weddingline. they come highly recommended and the manager of the place also goes to our church and she's willing to help us as much as possible.
dress experience
i went to three places to try on dresses.
i am a realistic person so i knew not to expect this perfect modelesque look that comes with wedding mags. nor did i want to fuss about a dress for too long
so first i tried wedding angels
its this cute boutique in a charming downtown roswell. i went saturday morning with friend E,
(she got married last yr and knows a thing or two about dress trying on). our helper, S was great! she was fantastic, listened to what i wanted, and helped me in every way possible without being too pushy or too much of a salesperson. we walked in and there were cookies and tea waiting for us plus the undivided attention of S. bc of my limited time, i tried on only off the rack dresses. unfortunately, there wasnt too many in my size but the prices were def reasonable for a boutique. i did see two that i liked but i didnt love them
on sunday, i went to david's bridal (i'm not even gonna link them) with my mommy. we had a 4:00 appt but we ended up waiting for 30 min bc they were "busy." the store was an absolute mess. they had the wedding season crowd, the prom crowd, basically just a big crowd. the helper, N was the most unfriendliest person i ever met. when she introduced herself to me, she didnt even say her name. i had to ask her like three times (literally!) what her name was. the other employees were def more attentive and helpful with their brides but N looked just wiped out and def did nothing to help. she did get a few dresses for us but it was my mom who laced me up, zipped me up. it was my mom who went and got a veil and shoes for me to try it on
and N kept disappearing. she would leave somewhere and not come back for like 10 minutes
finally, i stopped at weddingline in duluth on monday. as previously mentioned, a church member actually works there and she suggested i stopped by. honestly, i thought it would be another boutique with a little bit more "designer" dresses and i knew the prices would be something out of the budget. but my mommy and i went again to just "look"
weddingline has been opened for about a year. they dont even have a website yet and doesnt even advertise so its all by word of mouth.
the prices were reasonable (well greater than david's bridal but not by that much) and def the dresses were more elegant and prettier. it didnt look as cheap as david's bridal. and i found several! dresses i liked and i picked one!
unfortunately, i cant remember the name or the design of the dress
but i will post some pics next time.
photography
still working on it
ring update
still waiting . sigh.
