air mail love

i love wasabi tapes, or any kind of decorative tapes

even the fancy duct tapes but i can't justify the facts
for a duct tape so..

i own a roll of wasabi tape, some fancy extra decorative tapes from a korean website, and anything tape related.

and i'm not gonna lie...
one of my main reasons i'm going to korea in november is to find more :D

so when i ran across this website with these cool tapes,
i just had to show you guys :D

where i belong

this is why i belong in korea.
to buy these kinds of stuff.

i found this store on etsy.
the reason i dont pull out my card
is bc im sure if i actually go to korea its cheaper
than what they're selling it for.

le sigh~

looking for holiday cards

guestbook idea

guestbooks.
ahhh the book
where people write their name and address down.
so informal.
so useless.
sooooooooooo

i half brainstormed some ideas
some outrageous ones
some not do-able
some that maybe maybe I could do
if I had a lot of time
OR if I had a creativity streak

i went to an one year old bday party
(to clarify korean one year old party is a big deal)
and the mother had made multiple pre designed scrapbook paper
with pictures and quotes of the baby
and passed the sheets around
so people could sign their well wishes for the baby

i learned two things from this that I could incorporate:
1)the multiple sheets idea is great bc
nobody has to stand in line to sign one guestbook.
this eliminates ppl walking straight by the guestbook
and less waiting time.

2)by having more free space to sign well wishes
its a lot more fun to read than addresses.

so i took this idea and thought why not make predesigned
sheets of papers with our pictures where ppl can sign?
but then thats slightly vain.
so then i thought wouldnt it be cute
to get those Polaroid sticker picture ones
and have a "picture booth"
where they can post their pictures and comments together?

although ideal,
this would cost a lot more $$ plus time to organize
plus not as many ppl will be receptive
esp when we have 300 plus ppl coming

so then i brainstormed up index cards!
with simple name, address, and well wishes section.
multiple ppl can sign it at once
easy to keep track of, easy to make
(later, we can put a binder ring through it)

i turned to the creative jchongdesigns
and this is a rough draft
but i loves it!!

my invites

did i ever blog about my invites?

although customized, letterpress, fabulous invitation cards
would be awesome and ideal...
purchasing 300 plus invitations
would def have been too much $$$
and plus my friends have always said
(and i have to agree)
"i look at it once and throw it away"

so we went with using a korean company
that i had previously blogged about here
and after many many days and nights of internet searches
we went with the aroocard
i liked their design bc it was simple
and im not sure what it is
but the feel of the tree is slightly engraved
and has the letterpress feel.

we ordered 400 invites
and it came with the following
a)400 actual invitation
b)400 envelopes
c)400 inserts customized with our wedding website info
d)400 embossed stickers
free shipping to a korean address

total cost 168,000 won
converted into dollars
$126

then my future MIL shipped it to us
and that cost another $60

so i did something stupid
i was packaging invitations
and spilled sprite on the table

and it spilt on some of the invitations
well only two

but still, im clumsy

korean invitations

so the boy's sister sent us a korean website
where she got her invitations done recently.

now with the economy being the way it is
and my lack of confidence and partial laziness
in pulling off a DIY invitation
i needed some sort of cheap alternative.

also im pretty sure the wedding is gonna be about 300 ppl
with only about a 100 being non korean korean
so i needed an invite that also had some korean writing on it.

im still contemplating the alternative of only ordering
gorgeous invites (a smaller number = less $$)

anyways...this site is awesome.
you get the below invites, plus packaging
400 of the invites for about 126,000 wons
which roughly translates to about $92.00!

plus the FSIL told me that you can pick a design
go to a local printer in korea (which she can do)
and get it printed for about half that much.

is anyone considering a two invite wedding?
